Egyptian logistics startup Nowlun has added $600,000 to its seed funding round, pushing total investment to $2.3 million. In December 2024, it raised $1.7 million in December 2024 in a round led by Nama Ventures and A15. The latest extension, led by Ingressive Capital, is set to fast-track the development of Nowlun’s AI-powered Smart Logistics Assistant and deepen its operations in Egypt and Saudi Arabia—two markets vital to regional and global trade.
Founded in 2021 by Moataz Khamis, Mahmoud Khaled, and Ahmed Emara, Nowlun simplifies the complexity of international shipping through a digital platform that helps businesses move full container loads (FCL) and bulk cargo. The solution provides real-time rate comparisons, instant bookings, and live tracking—addressing critical pain points in a logistics sector still dominated by paper trails and slow manual processes.
This funding builds on Nowlun’s $1.7 million seed round in December 2024, backed by Nama Ventures, A15, Sanabil 500 Global, and other investors. That round enabled Nowlun’s initial foray into the Saudi market and supported the launch of its Bulk product—a tool offering dynamic access to sea freight rates.
With the new capital, Nowlun is advancing its next phase: building a Smart Logistics Assistant powered by artificial intelligence. The assistant will offer users personalized shipping insights, automated decision support, and cost-optimization recommendations—placing decades of logistics expertise at their fingertips.
“This is more than just funding; it’s a strategic push to embed AI at the core of logistics,” said CEO Moataz Khamis. “We’re building your Smart Logistics Assistant—a tool that helps you make faster, smarter shipping decisions every day.”
By combining AI with deep operational experience, Nowlun is creating a platform that aims to reduce inefficiencies and streamline supply chain processes for shippers across MENA and Africa.
Ingressive Capital, the lead investor in this extension, sees Nowlun as part of a broader shift toward data-driven logistics solutions that are locally built but globally scalable.
“Nowlun is not only modernising freight; they’re reimagining how trade moves across continents with speed, transparency, and precision,” said Maya Horgan Famodu, Founding Partner at Ingressive Capital. “We’re proud to support Moataz and his team in building a category-defining platform.”
As the world rethinks global supply chains and looks for more agile solutions, platforms like Nowlun are stepping up to meet the demand. Positioned strategically between Asia and Europe, North Africa plays a crucial role in global trade. For Nowlun, this isn’t just about digitization—it’s about enabling real-time, intelligent decision-making in a space that still relies heavily on phone calls, spreadsheets, and middlemen.
With plans to scale further in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Nowlun is using AI not as a buzzword, but as the backbone of its logistics transformation. The startup is betting that smarter systems—not just faster ones—will define the next frontier in global freight.
