Nigeria’s Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has emerged as the new OPEC President. She was elected at the ongoing 166th General Meeting of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC.
Being the first lady to be elected President, she succeeds Libyan Vice-Prime Minister for Corporations, Abdourhman Atahar Al-Ahirish. Until her election, Mrs. Alison-Madueke, was OPEC’s alternate president.
