7411 National Directory has commended Nigeria’s communication technology ministry for its open data initiative claiming it would harmonize and warehouse credible, relevant and useful data across the country for daily use.
Okeowo Desmond Olasubomi, chief executive officer, 7411 National Directory, said that when data are completely harmonized, warehoused and made accessible, the average citizen of Nigeria both at home or in the diaspora gets instant help and self education on almost all areas of life.
“Information as we all know is power. Without access to basic information nothing else can function. The world today revolves daily around access to basic information. This is what we at the 7411 Bureau of Information and directory have championed” he said.
He decried the non-existence of access to information in Nigeria.
He said: “This is why anybody can lay claim virtually to anything without the other party finding proofs or authenticating such claims which may be false or life threatening.Lives have been lost, people have been battered, serial offenders have continued business and the morale of our nation continually dampened.
“But I tell you, we will move this country forward by all means. This country Nigeria is our own. No one from outside, either white or black will rebuild it for us. We must jointly wake up and start the process of rebuilding”
