    Nigerian PricePally wins 1st Prize at the SA Innovation Summit Africa Cup

    Nigerian eCommerce startup, PricePally, has been awarded first prize at the 2020 Africa Cup competition at the South Africa Innovation Summit. The Africa Cup is a center-stage competition providing start-ups and early-stage companies in all tech-enabled sectors from around the world the opportunity compete and showcase their solutions to a global audience.

    PricePally beat out 11 other start-ups to take home the top prize.

    The Africa Cup’s goal is to promote and develop the entrepreneurial creativity of start-ups who are disrupting the traditional ways of doing business. Due to the on-going pandemic the summit and Africa Cup competition were held virtually.

    PricePally was awarded the top prize by a panel of industry leaders and Africa experts. The Nigerian company secured 1st prize with the uniquely implemented buying culture of the PricePally platform, where people can buy food in bulk or share bulk purchases directly sourced from farmers and wholesalers.

    The 1st place prize winner PricePally, receives the Moolman financial course, the IP game plan to the value of R30 000, an Anza digital tour and being put forward to AYO for an investment offer.

    Other winners are as follows:

    • 2nd place also receiving the Moolman financial course, IP strategic advice to the value of R15 000 and an Anza digital tour is :Nanostream Blu
    • 3rd place receiving a Moolman financial course and the IP Game plan valued at R30 000 is: Finvex
    • The Von Seidels brand protection prize to the value of R30 000 go to Fundi App.
    • The $1800 zoho credits go to Luma Law
    • And then lastly, the startup walking away with the tablet chosen as favourite by attendees on PRE is: eJoobi.

    Launched in November 2019, PricePally aims to cut out middlemen by leveraging technology to aggregate demand via a sharing model.

    The eCommerce company recently launched a group-buying platform that aggregates consumer food demand in urban cities and matches it with supplies directly from farmers and wholesalers. It also secured an undisclosed funding from GreenTec Capital Partners
