What started as a tech and media news and analysis site in 2007 and became known as AllTingsD came to an end on the last day of 2013. Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher announced that their website, AllThingsD, would be shut down in the wake of the September deal breakdown with owner Dow Jones. And indeed it did. However, today January 2, the pair launched a new venture Re/code.
Since Kara wrote her very first post for AllTingsD on April 18, 2007: “But enough looking back: On to the next thing.”, they have gone on to publish nearly 40,000 posts.
The domain name ATD, now redirects to the Wall Street Journal’s new tech offering, fittingly titled WSJ.D, and is currently subject to the paper’s paywall.
