On the 12th of April, 2014, technology enthusiasts will converge at “The Platform Tech” in Lagos, Nigeria to listen to three top leaders in technology talk about “Growing Your Local StartUp Using Technology”.
The three speakers are Sarah Lacy, Sim Shagaya and Bosun Tijani.
Sarah Lacy is the Founder, CEO and Editor-In-Chief of PandoDaily, a technology news site. Sarah is an award winning American technology journalist and author. She has been a reporter in Silicon Valley for nearly fifteen years, covering everything from the tiniest start-ups to the largest public companies. She has written two books – Once You’re Lucky, Twice You’re Good: The Rebirth of Silicon Valley and the Rise of Web 2.0 and Brilliant, Crazy, Cocky: How the Top 1% of Entrepreneurs Profit from Global Chaos. This is Sarah’s second coming to Nigeria. Her first was also at the invitation of Covenant Christian Centre under “The Platform Nigeria” initiative in 2011. Her report on Nigeria shone the spotlight on the likes of Jason Njoku of iROKO Partners, who benefitted from the exposure
Sim Shagaya is a serial technology and media entrepreneur. He is currently the CEO of Konga.com, an online shopping marketplace. He is also the founder of DealDey.com, a leading ecommerce (group buying, lead generation and demand optimization) site.
Bosun Tijani is the CEO and Co-Founder of Co-Creation Hub (CcHub) Nigeria, an innovation center dedicated to accelerating the application of social capital and technology fr economic prosperity in Nigeria. CcHub is Nigeria’s first open living lab for technologists, social entrepreneurs, tech companies, investors and hackers in and around Lagos. He is the Project Director for initiatives like Lagos State Innovation Cluster Mapping, iHQ, e.t.c
The Platform TECH 2014 is a business, technology and cultural innovative seminar. Powered by ‘Poju Oyemade led Covenant Christian Centre, it is the arm of The Platform Nigeria that deals with making available knowledge about using technology to find solutions to the specific needs of the Nation.
