Google has introduced significant updates to its “Results About You” tool, streamlining the process for users to safeguard their personal details from appearing in Search results. Announced on Wednesday, these improvements aim to simplify the way individuals can monitor and remove sensitive information such as phone numbers, email addresses, and home addresses.
With this enhancement, users no longer need to navigate deep into account settings. Instead, they can now request removals directly from Google Search. By clicking the three-dot menu next to a search result, a revised interface appears, allowing them to submit a removal request instantly via the “Remove this result” option.
Previously, users had to manually locate the “Results About You” tool within Google account settings to initiate a request. This latest update removes that friction, making the process more accessible and intuitive.
Additionally, Google now allows users to request a refresh of search results if outdated personal information still appears. If a website has already taken down specific content but Google’s search index has yet to reflect the change, users can request that Google recrawl the page to update its results accordingly.

To use this feature, individuals must fill out a form providing their contact details, which Google then verifies against existing Search results. Users can also opt-in to receive notifications when new instances of their personal information appear in search results.
Google assures users that the information provided during this process is not used for advertising or personalization across its services.
This feature is currently available in multiple countries, including the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, France, Sweden, Thailand, India, and Indonesia.
