Instagram Will Notify Users When a Screenshot Of Their Temporary Direct Messages is Taken

Instagram just added a new feature to help users protect their privacy.  The app will now notify you when someone takes a screenshot of your messages, according to a report by The Verge. This feature only works for the recently added temporary direct messages.

It is obvious Instagram copied this feature from Snapchat and it is a welcomed addition. Of course, the temporary direct messages is something people will want to keep private but that still doesn’t stop people from taking screenshots of your private messages.

This addition to the app got some users wanting an even wider option for screenshot alerts. For instance, those that keep their account private did that for a reason. One of them being not wanting any of their content being shared.

As of now, this feature isn’t available to everyone. Although, some iOS users and a small batch of test users are able to use this. But it is currently not available on Android as of this moment.
