Nsano Ltd, a leading pan-African fintech firm, has announced the launch of a regional office in Rwanda, marking a significant expansion of its presence in East Africa. This development comes on the heels of the company receiving approval from the National Bank of Rwanda, which has granted Nsano Payment Aggregation and Payment Remittances Service Licenses (Category II and III).
Founded in Ghana in 2013, Nsano has transformed from a value-added services provider into a technological powerhouse, facilitating seamless digital payments across the African continent. The company’s core services encompass a wide range of financial solutions, including:
- Payment Processing: Nsano connects businesses and governments to multiple African markets, enabling smooth and efficient digital payment transactions.
- Mobile Financial Services: The firm offers solutions that enhance mobile money platforms, thereby promoting financial inclusion and accessibility for users.
- Remittance Services: Nsano provides comprehensive remittance solutions that facilitate cross-border money transfers, making it easier for individuals to send and receive funds internationally.
- Payment Aggregation: The company aggregates various payment methods, simplifying the transaction process for both businesses and consumers.
With established regional offices in Ghana, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, and the UK, Nsano Ltd has built a robust payment processing network that spans over 30 countries. The addition of its East Africa office in Rwanda is a strategic move to further enhance its reach as part of an ambitious growth strategy.
Nsano holds licenses from several regulatory bodies, including:
- The Bank of Ghana
- The Central Bank of Zambia
- The National Bank of Rwanda
Expressing excitement about the new office, Priscilla Hazel, CEO of Nsano Group, stated, “We are thrilled to launch the East African wing of our business in Rwanda. We commend the National Bank of Rwanda for a seamless and transparent process in acquiring our license. Rwanda represents one of the fastest-growing technology hubs in Africa, and this aligns perfectly with our mission to be Africa’s premier digital payment processor.”
Hazel further emphasized the importance of coverage across the continent, noting, “As a customer-focused organization, we believe that coverage across the continent is key to giving our customers cross-market synergies that will enable them to scale.”
In addition to this expansion, the Nsano Group has made significant strides in recent months, including a major partnership announced in February 2025 with Arab Financial Services (AFS), a leading digital payment solutions provider and fintech enabler in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This collaboration is expected to enhance Nsano’s offerings across Africa, further solidifying its position in the fintech landscape.
