On his resignation date set for 31st March 2024, Stephen van Coller will vacate his position as the CEO of EOH. Andrew Mthembu, presently known for his position as the organization’s independent non-executive chairman, has been selected by the board along with the remuneration and nomination committee to fill in as an interim CEO.
Mthembu’s role will take effect from 1st April 2024 and will continue until a permanent CEO replacement is selected. Post this, he is expected to return to his role as the independent non-executive chairman.
EOH praised Mthembu’s abilities to deliver effectively as the executive chairman, noting that his comprehensive understanding of the operations and stakeholders of EOH will contribute to maintaining the continuity and stability of the organisation. He will also have the support of Marius de la Rey, Brian Harding and Fatima Newman, chief executive officers of the firm’s operational business units, who have recently renewed long-term commitments to EOH.
On another note, Andrew Marshall, currently holding the position of an independent non-executive director of the organization’s board, will take on the role of lead independent non-executive director from 1st April 2024 and will assist Mthembu in his duties. As per the board, this step will ensure that the board continues to function effectively, fulfilling its responsibilities objectively and upholding good corporate governance.
Moreover, Marialet Greeff, who commenced her role as interim CFO in November 2023, has now been officially given the title as the permanent CFO with immediate effect, as revealed by the EOH group.
