Samsung says that Galaxy Watch4 users will now be able to download Google Assistant on their devices effective today. This has been made possible partnership between Samsung Electronics and Google in building a unified Wear OS platform that creates a seamless connection across Android devices. This platform also comes with Google Play, which gives users access to some of the most popular apps and services from Google, including Google Maps, Google Pay, and YouTube Music
With this new functionality, Samsung users now have access to both Bixby and Google Assistant, giving them access to more advanced voice assistant functionality right from their wrists.
This is a good one for Samsung because uptake of its own virtual assistant, Bixby has been poor. So with this Google Assistant, Samsung can easily sunset Bixby.
Google Assistant will be available in 10 markets, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, The UK and USA. It will, also, support 12 languages, which include Danish, English (American, Canadian, United Kingdom, Australian, Irish), Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French (Canadian, France), and Taiwanese.
It is hoped that it will be available across Africa pretty soon.
