In response to the prevailing economic difficulties faced by many Nigerians, uLesson has announced a significant reduction in its software subscription prices. The popular digital learning platform revealed the move in a blog post today, emphasising the company’s commitment to ensuring quality learning remains accessible during challenging economic times.

The 50% reduction in subscription prices aims to alleviate financial burdens for users, particularly parents and learners, allowing them to continue expanding their knowledge without concerns about excessive costs.

Sim Shagaya, in a tweet on his X profile, expressed his dedication to supporting Nigerian households experiencing intense hardships due to economic policies.

These are difficult times for households. @ulessonapp will drop educational software subscription prices by 50% indefinitely to support Nigerian families through this period and beyond.

I pray strength and resilience for everyone.

Despite the pricing adjustment, uLesson shared some updates, stating that live lessons for grades 1–11 will no longer be available. However, SS 3 (Grade 12) students can still access them for exam preparations. Homework Help is also transitioning out, but uLesson is introducing an AI-powered alternative, Ask by uLesson, for 24/7 instant help with challenging homework.

uLesson acknowledged the challenges associated with change but expressed optimism and a commitment to delivering the best learning experience. The company sees these adjustments as a step forward into a future marked by innovation and evolution.

To subscribe to uLesson on any device, users can follow these steps:

uLesson, founded in 2019 by Sim Shagaya, officially launched on March 1, 2020, after a successful 12-month beta testing period. The platform achieved 40,000 downloads from the Play Store within four weeks of its official launch, indicating steady growth and a high rate of adoption.

The 50% reduction in subscription prices reinforces uLesson’s dedication to making education accessible amid challenging conditions. According to the CEO, this reduction is a long-term commitment, reflecting the company’s ongoing efforts to prioritize affordability and user accessibility.
