Renowned Nigerian actor Desmond Elliott is set to feature in Santalal,  a Kenyan drama series that will premiere on Citizen TV on 14th January.

The narrative in Santalal is a family conflict over land, corruption and romance. Desmond Elliott plays the role of a charming Nigerian who is caught up in multiple relationships with Kenyan ladies. The series also feature local actors like Tahidi High’s Mr Tembo, Gerald Rangiri, Moris Ochieng and Faith Munini.

Desmond is not a stranger to Kenyan television viewers. The popularity of Citizen TV’s Afrosinema segment is evidence of this. Nigerian movies have become very popular in Kenya over the years.

His role in Santalal is a reflect of increasing collaborations in the African creative industries. In 2012 Kenya’s Victoria Kimani signed up with Chocolate City, a Nigerian record label. She successfully released a second single ‘Oya’ a collabo with MI (Mr Incredible).
