Appruve, a data verification platform, is now live in Egypt. This is the fifth country in Nigeria after Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda. This serves as the company’s step into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region
Launched in 2018, Appruve is a product of Inclusive Innovations, Inc., a Fintech company which aims to enable last-mile authentication across Africa using technology.
According to UN Data, Egypt has a population of 102,796,445, with 43.0 % of the population being urban (44,041,052 people in 2020). The median age in Egypt is 24.6 years.
The Global Findex Data by the World Bank, in 2017 reported that only 33% of adults in Egypt have bank accounts. The gap between women and men who own bank accounts is 12%, while the gap between high net worth individuals and low net worth individuals is 21%.
There’s a clear opportunity for growth and improvement of financial inclusion, which Appruve is looking to catalyze.
