    Cadbury Nigeria appoints new MD as Naaman resigns

    A new Managing Director has been appointed for major fast moving consumer goods company, Cadbury Nigeria. He is Muhammad Amir Shamsi and his appointment follows the resignation of the outgoing MD Roy Naaman.

    The company revealed that Shamsi’s appointment takes effect from February 1 since Naaman’s resignation becomes effective from January 31. No reason was given for Naaman’s resignation. It would be recalled that Naaman became Cadbury Nigeria’s MD on January 1st 2015, he took over the reins of the company from Emil Moskofian.

    According to a statement from the company duly signed by its Director of Corporate and Government Affairs, Bala Yesufu and Company Secretary, Fola Akande, Shamsi will assume office on 1st February, 2017.

    Until his appointment, Shamsi is a Director, Innovation Kids Wholesome, Global Biscuits, East Hanover, USA. He has vast experience in Fast Moving Consumer Goods at international level. He was Head of New Categories & Gum & Candy, West Africa for USA based Mondelez International. Muhammad Amir Shamsi also served as Brand Manager at O.J Foods, and Oral Care section of Glaxosmithkline Consumer Healthcare.
