With the advent of new marketing media platform, great companies find ways of exploiting the potential inherent in these forms of media. One of such platforms is Instagram.Instagram, an online photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service, was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and launched in October 2010 and was acquired by Facebook in 2012 for approx US$1 billion.Instagram Video, a rival to Twitter’s Vine, was launched in June 2013 and according to Unruly media “Short-form content is riding a huge wave of popularity in 2014, with Vine and Instagram boasting 200 million users between them. This year will only see an upward trajectory for the format.”
