Autochek Kenya, an innovative auto-tech startup, has joined forces with the insurtech company Turaco to revolutionize the way car insurance is offered to Kenyan motorists. This collaboration is set to provide Autochek’s clientele with a comprehensive motor insurance package that is not only extensive in coverage but also uniquely flexible in payment terms, allowing for monthly installments. This strategic move significantly lowers the financial barrier for car owners in Kenya, making the cost of insurance far more accessible.

Originating from Nigeria and now operating across nine African nations, Autochek is on a mission to transform the automotive sector by enhancing the affordability and accessibility of car ownership on the continent. Meanwhile, Turaco stands out as a pioneering insurance provider, reshaping the landscape of insurance financing in emerging markets. It specializes in offering straightforward, cost-effective health and life insurance solutions designed specifically for individuals with modest incomes.

The synergy between Autochek and Turaco has culminated in a bespoke insurance offering that caters to the multifaceted needs of Kenyan vehicle owners. This service amalgamates various aspects of car ownership, including financing, insurance, tracking, and maintenance, into a single, streamlined package.

By introducing flexible monthly payment options, the partnership aims to dismantle the conventional barriers associated with vehicle insurance, which typically involve lump-sum annual premiums. This initiative is poised to make insurance costs more manageable and budget-friendly for customers of Autochek.

Henry Mbugua, the Kenya country manager for Autochek, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration with Turaco, emphasizing that it represents a significant stride towards enriching the car ownership experience. “We are excited to work alongside Turaco to bring our customers an inventive insurance solution that is in harmony with their financial circumstances. This alliance is a testament to our dedication to elevating the car ownership journey by offering all-encompassing and economical services, all the while ensuring our pricing remains competitive,” he remarked.

Echoing this sentiment, Turaco’s CEO, Ted Pantone, highlighted his company’s commitment to democratizing the insurance sector.

Our ambition is fueled by forming alliances with forward-thinking entities like Autochek, who share our zeal for harnessing technology to forge frictionless customer experiences. By merging our tech-centric methodologies with the option of flexible monthly payments, we enable Autochek to provide their customers with premier insurance options and an outstanding overall experience.
