According to a recent Wall Street Journal report, Apple has placed an order of about 80 million units of the next two iPhone 6 units. The Cupertino based company has given its suppliers a December 30, 2014 deadline to complete the order, which consists of the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch sizes of the phone.
This is an appreciable increase from last year which the company only ordered 50-60 million of the iPhone 5s and 5c. To meet this demand, Foxconn is reportedly hiring 100,000 new workers to assist with the production of the phones.
